Cycled past this today but didn't stop. Checked out their website and they offer 55% discount for stays of 1 month or more which makes it a good price. Haven't heard of Funsters staying there so thought there may be a good reason? Anyone tried it?

Hi, totally off topic, but have read your Blog with interest, is Murcia/ Sierra Espuna area on your list of places to visit. Good biking here from Totana our Spanish base.

Indeed it is, I was recommended to your blog last year so you have been on our list of places to visit. Hopefully see you in a few weeks time (y)

Stayed at vilasol. Discount for 1 months stay.

Hi Coolbeanz

Not been to camping Benidorm but spent 10 days at camping Cap Blanche Albir and enjoyed it, (about 4 miles from you at Alfas) having the beach close was a nice change.

Enjoy Totana the cycling is good, can be challenging but good and @jumar will help you with some good routes and local knowledge.

Are you on road or mountain bikes.

Most offer discount for month, arena blanca pretty cheap compared to most....

This site looks quite a distance from the town and the sea front. The others are walking distance.

Normally have our road and mountain bikes with us but this trip we've left the road bikes at home as its difficult to sightsee when using SPD's.

We don't mind the distance as we cycle everywhere. We are on a lovely Aire at Alfaz del Pi which is 2 kms to the beach. Gorgeous surroundings and nice and peaceful.

How much is the Aire? We are paying approx £8 a night, heated pool, fully serviced pitch with tv and internet @ arena blanca..

Had a meal tonight at another Snowbird recomendation, in Albir.... Classico gourmet. Great food and value..

Ours works out at approx £7.60 at current exchange rate. Might pop and see you tomorrow if you are there anytime during the day?

Just Checked on the web and it shows its €12.90 per night plus €0.45 per kW EHU. Is that wrong?

Pitch 52 below first shower block, kettle will be on...... Keen cyclists as well, especially my wife who's in training for london to Brighton:)

Just worked out price its £9.19 per night over a month inc tax at current rate, I had nealy 1.40 exchange rate before we came out. Plus elec on top.

You need to have a wander around them all to be honest, all nearbye, some have better internet but you pay for it. But most are real big sites and we prefer small....

Adios amigo Eddie

It's not in the actual village but is near the tram station in the orange groves.

Hi Eddie, we left Benidorm on Monday morning. We are now at Aranjuez near Madrid, will be here until next Monday when we head off to Bilbao and the ferry home.

You must be close to Almafra then, will have to have a look around there when we next return.
Brisey.

We stayed a month in Almafra and didnt see it! Is it new?

It's not in Almafra. Look at the map and we are the blue dot. There is also another Aire called the Orange Grove 300 mtrs past this one which is the Costablanca.

When we were at Cap Blanche a few weeks ago there was an article in the local English paper that said that the Orange grove had to close as the planning permission had been recinded by the government. Has this position changed.

No it is closing at the end of April and will reopen September as we had initially planned to go there first. Not disappointed though as Costablanca is lovely with excellent clean facilities and very good free wifi. A guy we met here said he has been streaming English TV because the wifi is so good. Probably explains why I can't always get on!!

I thought the other aire near the Orange Grove had been closed down and reading the local free papers the Orange Grove will soon follow. We are also on Camping Arena Blanca. I see you are from East Bergholt we were there for New Year rally.

The Camperpark Costa Blanca isn't closing as we said we would be staying for up to a month and they said that was fine. The Orange Grove told Glynn they are closing at the end of April to get their paperwork sorted and will re-open September.
We saw a Hymer opposite Eddies van when we visited this morning, is that yours or are you on a different pitch?
They are a lot of rallies held at the school just past our house. Is that where you were? We were in Goa for the winter so the Hymer was on our drive. Let us know if you attend another rally there in case we are in England, can make you a cuppa or pour you a glass of something stronger!!:wine::drink::beerchug::rofl:

Orange Grove is noy an Aire !! it is a campsite with 32 pitches with water/elec hookup, there is a small pool, receptionist sells local spirits and beer, nice clean toilet block, wi fi (at a cost)
We were there last year for 4 weeks and had a great time, while there they were they had bought the adjoining small field to turn half into a storage area and half for motorhomes not wanting hook up.
Btw various vans came to visit selling there wares daily.
Alfaz de Pi not far with various pubs , cafe's, supermarkets and markets plus a good bus service into Benidorm.
But to get the best of it you need a car to get around. recommend though.

It is actually a camper park and is listed in the Aires book. They are like French Aires but with campsite style facilities. Like an Aire but with bells and whistles
