Got an LRM 1218 mppt controller connecting to an EBL101 block. Got power coming from the solar panel and the same voltage exiting the reg, however I'm not getting any charge, even when a high load is applied, to either the leisures or the vehicle batteries, completely stumped.

Cheers Dave

What are the voltages?
I'm not sure what the high load has to do with anything, the battery should charge without a load (n)

It's either fully charged or it isn't sunny enough then, my 40w bosch panel was useless in cloudy weather.

sadly thats not the issue, I've known for a few weeks that batteries were not getting topped up, I found out during our glorious hot spell, but we've been on the road for a while and mainly on ehu's, so its only now I'm home I've had a chance to have a proper look. definitely power coming from the panel, and coming out the reg, but not charging leisures or vehicle.

Yes, sunny spells in Chester tomorrow (y)
As said above the voltage out of the panels should be 15+ I think mine are rated at 19v

Surely if you have 13.86 either side of the regulator then there is a fuse gone between the regulator and the batteries or the batteries are kaput and not retaining any charge.

you said you had been mostly on EHU. Was it just the odd day not on EHU?

Something must be happening or the cab battery would not start the engine!

If you check with a voltmeter on the ebl Block 6 I think where the solar regulator plugs in you should see Leisure battery voltage if not you have a problem.

In bright sun panels should be producing 21 - 22 volts, output of the regulator if charging should gradually rise to 14.2 v ( 14.7 for AGM) once charged and after the absortion phase should drop to 13.6 - 13.8v float charge.
Sounds like either the panels or regulator are duff.
