If you use comparison sites, check the amount of cover for windscreen replacement.

Some are cheap because they offer minimal cover which could turn out to be costly if you have a claim.
Get on compare the market .com or confused .com.

Always find insurance goes up, but I always find it cheaper using these sites.

My experience, and that of others, is the opposite; falling premiums.

72 last year just passed medical for hgv so don't see problem
If you didn't get an increase when you were 70 you have maybe got away with it for a couple of years , you havnt moved house have you.

Get in touch and ask why ,also say your leaving they are given wriggle room to keep you it will be on their screen how much percent they can knock off
if youve just retired changed cars had a no fault claim moved address got rid of a car so you only have one, taken someone off your policy it all makes a difference…………ring and say its too much and see what they say,if you have other policies with the samecompany you should ask for discount too ………good luck

Regardless of other peoples' claims, i find that all companies that i've used hike the price at some stage, usually year two or three. Based on a suggestion here I went with LV this year and got insured for about £240 withe a very good price on top of that for breakdiwn cover including 180 days in eu.
I'm 78 with a quite expensive van.

Just renewed last month. Last year was £614. This year was £375
Nearly fell of my chair when I opened the renewal notice.
No changes to the policy either, just a straight renewal and a year older. Now over 60, so maybe that’s it.

Watching this with interest. Just received my renewal quote from Comfort and it's gone up by £48 from last year's premium of £320.26.

Last year £2 increase in policy.

No changes at all to the policy, 6k miles and still stored in a CASSOA Gold facility. So whilst I've been happy with Comfort for the past 6 years, time to look for alternatives I think.

By comparison, car insurance went down by just over £120 last month!

The longer you're with them the more they will quote you, thinking you're not the sort of person that shops around. Get on the comparison sites. I often go on the sites, find the cheapest quote and phone my current insurer and "give them the chance" to improve their renewal price. It's worked a handful of times.

The part I like is when the premium goes up and they will not move I go online and more often than not I find the company I’m with comes up with a quote that was cheaper than you paid two years ago.

Just renewed the Camper, car and motorbike policies. All premiums were cheaper than least year.

It gets even more interesting, if I were to keep the motorhome on my drive, the premium is cheaper than keeping at a secure indoor CASSOA gold storage location.

Go figure that one out🤔

Location makes a difference.

My price went down when I lived on Anglesey. When I moved back to Cheshire the price went up again, when I asked the agent told me it was the location. The house in the middle of nowhere on Anglesey is lower risk, apparently.

Still found it cheaper with another company!
