AIB seem to be good. They advertise at the top of the page. Comfort also - underwritten by Aviva

Have used Safeguard for the last four years. Sadly had to call them twice this year - once in Scotland from the middle and nowhere for a faulty fuel distributor cap - magically a mechanic appeared with forty minutes of my initial call!!! and once from an isolated farm in the Peak District for a faulty battery - again they appeared within forty five minutes. Both problems were quickly and efficiently resolved for us - would recommend them without reservation.

As my van is parked on the street I found a lot of companies wouldn't insure me! My quote from the caravan club last month was neatly £500 and when phoning round I got a quote of £380 via Adrian Flux. They will phone you back if you register your interest via their web page. My insurers are now Chaucer which is the same as my sisters car and they provided a brilliant service earlier this year when she had a minor coming together with a tree. Would recommend both the agent and the insurance company.

We've been with Safeguard for four years and they've been great. Someone reversed into the side of our previous van in a filling station :doh:and did quite a bit of damage......they were brilliant and we had no problems with the claim(y)
Also they had someone out to us within an hour when we were at Wensleydale with a leaking fuel filter.

We're paying £260 a year including European cover.

Have to agree with those recommending Safeguard, good cover for a sensible price. You do need to read the small print, the underwriters are Allianz one of the largest insurers in Europe. You don't get to be a big player without having some very small print indeed.

I have just joined and had to reply to this. 1st September we leave the UK for a year long tour of Europe. We are letting the house while we are away. Saga now do year long overseas insurance at a great price, their brilliant breakdown cover will cover us for a year away and Saga have just started doing landlords insurance at a price that beats all by a long way. Covering us for up to 6 months abroad is the norm. We haven't got to go to a specialist (expensive) insurance broker to get cover .....guess which company I am recommending.

How wierd, for me Saga beat the cavavan club hands down. Must be to do with the postcode. Moral is ask for 2 or 3 quotes.
Phil
Anyone want to lend me their postcode????? Only if you get cheap insurance that is.
