Looks like an underpass rather than a road,a bit low for some cars also.what a waste of a Van.
I thought so too. I wonder if it was a stolen vehicle being chased. How else could someone be that stupid. Maybe one less driver that shouldn't be on the road.

What’s it even doing on a footpath?
I recall a site in southern France (can't remember where exactly) that had two access roads: one had a low underpass (similar to OP's) and the other avoided the underpass. I reckon he must've been blindly following his satnav. Poor chap, we all make mistakes, but he managed a very expensive one.

At least the driver had the sense to stop before doing it a second time.

As many frequent posts on here have insisted, there are no low underpasses at Rouen.

It's probably a road, otherwise why the warning markings across the bridge.

'People in glass houses' I can't say anything, twice we've had very near misses, once coming out of Le Havre which we knew well from years of caravanning. The other was on a ring road to the West of Paris, which I blamed on inadequate signage, but was probably lack of attention.

Closer to home, the entrance to Wick Caravan Site.

Must admit to cr*pping" myself taking our 28' twin axle caravan through it!
And a bloody train crossed overhead as we were doing so!:Eeek:
Thought half the bl**dy roof had come off!:crying:

Seems to be more common abroad
There are a lot in Germany when you get onto minor roads
Usually under railways
I think it could be easier to do than most people think
Same as damage to sides of vans folk forget they are not just in their cars

I nearly came a cropper in my early days trying to get to Rowntree site in York...

The subsequent embarrassing 13 point turn amused the passing pedestrians & held up a couple of cars.
I was flustered when I eventually found my way to the site.

Perhaps the driver should look out through the big see through panel at the front. I think it’s called the windscreen or something. I mean it must be there for a reason mustn’t it?
When I was HGVing my wife told a friend that all I did was 'sit on his a**e and look out of the window'.

In theory I could get under there but not sure I would chance it
I work on anything under 3m is best avoided

There's a bridge as you come into Penclawdd from Gowerton that has a flashing warning sign on it, it always flashed when I drove my horse lorry towards it.
I knew I would be OK and was I was used to it.
Passers by used to look a bit worried though, but they were looking at the warning sign NOT the lorry.
