Hi Funsters,
I'm a newbie looking at hopefully getting a Hymer in the next 6 months.
Can anybody recommend a Hymer dealers in Germany or Belgium ?
Any bad experiences or comments ?
Thanks, Steve.

I bought mine in Germany last March, I have to look for the name of the dealer, unless JJ (my partner) has it.

I'll ask him otherwise I will have a look at my inbox , I know I kept all their e-mail!
Give me a bit of time as I am busy right now!

Amicalement

Frankie:)

Just got the link to the site ... Thanks JJ , here it is!

They are very nice and very helpful . There are quite a few hotels in that area.
For practical questions , ask away, we'll see if we can answer

this is a Belgium dealer.
I have never bought from them butvthe do have a good reputation here in Belgium.
They have sold a lot of Hymers to the UK.
When I have spoken to there sales staff they are always helpfull.

Hi Steve,

Our Hymer originally came from Campirama, Belguim. They seem friendly enough on the phone, and others have used them. http://www.campirama.be/

We have used Derrwang of Dortmund when picking up spares. The owner whom we met at the Dusseldorf Show, is a gentleman. http://www.duerrwang.de/

We have also had work carried out, servicing done, and purchased spares from the Hymer factory at Bad Waldsee, wherupon you can overnight and visit their museum, showroom, and accessory shop. There is also a factory tour available (pre-booked only).

Thanks for your prompt responses, I have already noted Campirama and Duerrang as being used by UK buyers. Nice to see their reputations are good. Thanks.

Ours originally came from Dürrwang in Dortmund. I have no experience of them as ours was imported, used, by Edgehill Motorhomes in Mansfield Woodhouse. However, I believe Edgehill bought quite a few Hymers from Dürrwang (maybe they still do) so I guess they are a decent outfit to buy from.

You could give Paul or Lee at Edgehill a call and see what they think. They have lots of good LHD Hymers there too!

nearly bought from Campirama when we downsized to panel vans in 2010/2011 but they would not take anything in PX that was not Hymer so went elsewhere and bought an Adria. a friend has bought 2 from them and prices seem comparable to Germany.

I'll tell you how I do it when I want to get a new van: visit dusseldorf show. identify a handful of dealers and get quotes. come home and play one off against the other away from the heat of the show....On a CB I would expect a 17% discount + with the exchange rate you're quids in..

If your SURE what you want (we have changed our minds after visiting Dusseldorf). you can do the same bargaining by looking on Link Removed for dealers with vans of interest. but not all conversant with exports, will let you export VAT free + have good english, so a more laborious way of identifying decent dealers.

But if you can get a Belgian dealer to match the best deal, (which I have done twice) you will be better of in case you have issues and need to visit....

another vote for Durrwang from a friend who just bought a Hymer

"Durrwang Morlein, Dortmund. Seem a good dealer with impressive discounts. Speak English, or at least some of them do."

Thanks Judgemental, some sound advice. Getting VAT free from the dealer would be helpful, does anyone know if Duerrwang allows this ?
