Hi. Has anyone bought this product recently from the UK distributor? I emailed them yesterday, but with no reply as yet. Any successful use of it on a soft lining of a campervan roof? Thanks. Ian.

I tend to use diluted Miltons Baby Fluid.
Removes mould and mildew and very handy to have in van!!(y)
I have removed the curtains from my van as they always have a naff pattern, even took off the net curtains so rely on the roller blinds at night. Because our van is high off the ground you would need to be a giant to see inside anyway.

We had water ingress in our Burstner in the last week. We have had so much rain here in Wales. The leak has been sorted with the proper stuff and the small roof damp mark removed with a white vinegar solution, I wonder if that may work on your mould problem .

I have used Curtain Magic for several years, in New Zealand. It's pretty powerful stuff. My camper curtain linings get mouldy as it's pretty humid there. Once every two years I use it in a spray bottle. I hang the curtains on the clothes line with the lining hanging down. By the time I have sprayed them all (about 15) the first ones are completely clear of all the mould. I do wash them afterwards but the directions tell me that it is not necessary. It's great stuff.
I have also used it on the roof lining of the camper. It works really well.

Thanks for the very useful information. Here in UK, I have been recommended by one campervan dealer to use Vanish Pre-Treat Oxi Action Stain Remover Spray, which I am going to get tomorrow from a local supermarket (it is widely available here for home use) for just a few GBP. I'll see how that goes, although I am not greatly optimistic because I have used something similar with limited success in the past. If that does fail, I have had a suggestion of something called Glutoclean Mould Remover Chlorine Free 750 ml. However, this seems only available from Germany and will cost about 37 GBP including extortionate postage charges! My final alternative is to go all in and order Curtain Magic, which currently only comes in a 2 litres container and has to come all the way from Australia for about 55 GBP. Thanks again!

In the past have used HG mould spray but needs rinsing off.
Then someone on a Bongo forum recommended Clove oil. It works no nasty smells or respiratory irritants, no need to wash off. Doesn't affect man made or cotton fabrics.

Don't even be tempted to be heavy handed with the Vanish Oxy granules - it DOES bleach if you use too much.
Thanks for the warning! Just this morning I heard back from Hymer in Germany and they recommend “YACHTICON Schimmel & Stockflecken Entferner”. I have managed to find a UK supplier and so have ordered some of that. Even attempted use of the Vanish is on hold until Monday due to near continuous rain here!

Ian, thanks for sharing the info that you got from Hymer. Where did you find the UK supplier? Struggling to find it in the usual places. Thanks

We've got a rental property where the tenant (who was really a great tenant) preferred to use her own Tumble dryer, rather than the combined washer dryer in the kitchen. So she put it in the conservatory but kept the windows and doors closed as it was cold outside. It was literally on 24/7 and was like a steam room.

When she moved out, we were expecting to have to replace the (nearly new) pale cream vertical blinds as they were unsurprisingly covered in mould, so I figured I had nothing to lose but to try CIF Mould Remover Spray. I went for the more expensive one, but the results completely amazed us - I just sprayed it on and after 10 minutes or so, the mould disappeared. As the blinds we're in place I just gave them a quick wipe over rather than a complete rinse off, but they're still looking great.

Having said that I'd definitely recommend doing a thorough patch test - we had nothing to lose really, so we were able to take a more relaxed approach! 😊

From marinescene.co.uk where they have it listed as 'Yachticon Mould & Mildew Remover'.

Ian, thanks again. Ordered and on its way. My Hymercar is suffering this year with the weather despite a dehumidifier and a fan going all the time.

Yep and not being out on the road can't help with damp! We are promised a nice day on Monday so I'll be up in the pop-top much of the day. At least it will give me something constructive to do, although it has come to something when I'm actually looking forward to washing off mould.

Unfortunately, Marinescene just called to say that their delivery of Yachticon is damaged and so they cannot fulfil my order. Replacement will be weeks away. I will be given a refund and they were very apologetic about the situation. Not sure what to do next as I cannot find any other supplier in the UK. I have emailed Force 4 in Germany to ask about their delivery dates.

Cleaning Pros recommend NOT using, or spraying any kind of anything on the curtains. Sometimes a simple Goof Off (aka paint remover) does the job. Otherwise, they don't want to have to explain how it works to you anyway.

..

It is really that's simple and easy! You can still keep paying for commercial cleaners with all those fancy chemicals, but be forewarned; in my experience, this method will always work and most likely save money in the long run as well since so many of these store-bought products come out expensively over time because they're only needed at first when what you should be doing is getting back to basics and stripping away surface contaminants before giving your home a
