One of us is slightly hard of hearing, not saying who, but apparently its my fault coz my voice is the wrong pitch. So we travel for miles and miles without being able to communicate. Admittedly we've been together for more than 55 years, so not talking is not surprising I suppose. But SWMBO can be useful with her navigational expertise, and on-road observations, besides, I like chatting with her. But hearing aids are out, not necessary apparently. So I was thinking of those bent white things that stick out of people's ears, and a microphone each. Or a mini walkie talkie. Ideas? We can't be the only ones like this!

Somebody's bound to suggest get a new wife! It's a bit late for that.

My wife recently invested in noise cancelling Apple little white things. She says they are great but if you phone her when they are activated you get all the noise she misses.

Apple have listen live Here it effectively uses the iPhone as a microphone and pushes the sound to earphones.

I've no experiment of these, but it sounds good

Do what a lot of youngsters do these days when they go out for a meal. Text each other 🤪

A couple of pals and I use very small hands-free intercoms when out on our motorbikes with a range of about 400 yds (poss more). It's about the size of a 10's fag packet, extremely light and all fits on the helmet with an earpiece and mic inside the helmet. You don't need to wear a helmet though!
It's a vast improvement on what we had before.........

Link? Not for the pictured one tho. Mind you, she does look cute. She's probably about 90 now anyway

Apple car play let’s you legally text while driving

Beaten to the suggestion, but I second a set of motorcycle bluetooth intercoms, even the cheap Chinese ones, but every time you pass a McDonalds you will get orders for a big mac and extra fries

I thought it might suit if conversations are just one way in your van. :ROFLMAO:
It's balancing it on the steering wheel is the problem. As an aside, couple of days ago I was driving along, right on top of the steering wheel was a shield bug, I flicked it off and it went straight down the screen heating duct. Neat, a sort of hole – or slot in one. Must have been left over from France. It's probably starting a family right now
