Secondary Safety System Electronic Control Unit.Sorry to highjack this thread, but.........does anyone know what that silver box is for, located forward of the battery compartment (as shown in the first OP's pic).
Pretty much, plus others - seat belt pre-tensioner for one. In fact that might be the only other - can't remember. If I remember correctly, it's not actually the sensor itself, it's the bit that decides what to do next when the sensor sends it's signal to it.Airbag sensor
Cheers Eddie! That makes perfect sense! Its the top of your fuel tank and the pipes that fill and empty it!
Do you think that is the Chattanooga Foo Foo?It's a pressure relief system for a foo foo valve........
That was my first thought too!?It's a thingamyjigwotsit
If I disconnected the wires would that serve as a kill switch? Its the top of your fuel tank and the pipes that fill and empty it!
Excellent thank you. It's always good to know where things are in case of a breakdown. I'll put the cover back on now and leave it in peace! The electrical wires are for your fuel lift pump and the sender unit for your fuel gauge which are installed inside the tank, the pipes will be a breather, a supply pipe and the return pipe from your injectors.
I'm really getting to know my van now, excellent!Beat me to it, suspect its the airbag ECU or crash sensor due to the yellow wiring.
Don't bang it with anything or tamper with it.
Sound advice thanks! Not a good idea to keep disconnecting it in case you bend a pin or break one off as you'll be stranded then.
A switch would be a better long term solution if considering it. Immobiliser/alarms would tend to break into the feed elsewhere rather than directly at the pump but does the same job.
If parking up for a length of time its an extra anti-theft measure I suppose
