I'm after an SD card for my Phone, it's a bit of a mine field with speeds etc.. What do you recommend. Some are 60mb/s read speed while others are 170mb/s they all have different names like Extreme and Ultra. Any help appreciated on guidance to the right Micro SD card for my Samsung phone. Thanks.. Took me ages to find one that actually works, in the end I went into Tesco phone shop and bought one he said would work, looks just the same spec on the card but yes it did work, think there must be more copies about than real ones

Thanks chaser I have heard some stories about duff cards from Amazon. I've read that using SD card memory can be slower transfer than the phone internal memory, this is why I am looking at the transfer speed but it doesn't appear as easy as it seems...I will take a look in Tesco Ta..

SD cards are used for many applications - laptop, camera, phone etc and there are different specs for different uses. For a phone, you hold app data on the sd card, or maybe even run the app direct from the sd card. The relevant spec is A1, or A2 for running apps direct from the card. I have one of these:

And some wonder why Apple locks out adding external storage like this. It is a great example of buying the largest amount of internal memory you can on any device then it’s not a faf. I’m just waiting for the black hole chip......but then again I’d probably never be able to find what would be stored ;)
