We are MH newbies and are thinking of 3 or 4 nights away between Xmas & New Year' in the UK. Driving from Norfolk' we dont mind a 4-5hr drive and are open to suggestions?

An airport from where you can fly somewhere warm.

Being more serious, York is great that time of year.
If only Burstners had wings' Thailand would be great!
We thought about York, wondered if it would be shut after the xmas run up' markets gone etc?

Not sure everything will be open then, but it's such a cool place to spend a few days.

Most cities are open the sales start Christmas day . Depends if you want sea or country

I came back from Lincolnshire last week to Wales took nearly 5 hours gave up at Ross on wye .parked up by the river and went to bed another hour and 15 minutes home. The next day The traffic should be quieter that week . Are you wild camping or looking for a site they will be very expensive I would have thought as most would already be booked .

Hi, and welcome. I would be bias as I live in Dorset, however, sea in front of you and the new forest behind you what more is needed?
Most of the Bournemouth shops are open and the out of town "Castle point" does have free parking, I have parked a 6.5 meter MH there.
Need any info on the area give me a shout, always a pleasure to help a MHmer

Depending where you are in Norfolk, you might just get to the Lake District for a complete change of scene. And I reckon the key tourist towns will be busy, if that's what you like, otherwise, cracking scenery and walking.

The Camping and Caravanning Club have a new campsite at Braithwaite, just outside Keswick. A couple of good pubs in the village and lots of options in town, a couple of miles away, reached by path or bus.

Depends what you are looking for, pubs that accommodate MH can be found around the coast, town and tourist attractions give you flexibility and a range of options

I find it terribly depressing that enough people want to go shopping and staff are happy to work on Christmas Day (or Boxing Day) that it's profitable for retailers to open.

We have stayed at Overbrook in Thornton le Dale just east of Pickering over new year in the past. Buses to Scarbourgh, Pickering or over the moors to Whitby. Lovely village five minits walk from the site.
Managements did say we might go there this year end after our Christmas family commitments to recover.

Bath is a beautiful place to visit.
The marina site is great no need to use van in these areas👍
Yup.We generally park up and use public transport and bikes. The park and ride is just outside the Bath site and we cycled into Bristol and had a great day.Good craft brewery up the road too

Agree, Bath would make a good location at that time of year. 2 pubs within walking distance and city centre an easy walk or cycle along the canal directly from the marina site.

Hi seaside , what is the marina site really like as I have heard so many bad reviews about it, Bailey15 says it is a great site, it would be nice to find out either way.

I recall reading some less than positive reviews, but it’s a perfectly good site. It’s nothing fancy and the shower blocks are functional rather than luxurious. However, you’re paying for a convenient location within walking distance of a major world heritage site and spa. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. I particularly enjoyed the local pub (Locksbrook Inn) and adjacent bakery, both located on the canal. If you are seriously troubled by a bit of train & road noise, then it might not be ideal, but I wouldn’t describe it as intrusive.

Yes it’s not top notch site but absolutely perfect for visiting such a history city as Bath. We used our own facilities so couldn’t say about toilet block.
Park n ride outside and Bath tour bus a plus👍
