Considering the danger caused by the incorrect fitting of devices emitting Carbon Monoxide, perhaps it was a good thing that the 'Pop Top' worked well.

The trading standards should be visiting some of the larger manufacturers too.

How many of you haven't got correctly sealed fridges?

I'd be interested what the fraud charges entailed
and what portion of the sentence was for fraud and what was for the life threatening installations

As the op asks, does anyone have any info on these vans, anyone got one, or has anyone even seen one , are they still on the market second hand, could be still being sold with defects.

Very true and a personal bugbear with me - to the extent that I would now insist on proof that the fridge was correctly sealed as a condition of purchase.

He was sentenced to 32 months in prison for fraud charges, affecting 16 people and to a value of £172,000. For the dangerous installation, he was sentenced to a further 10 months - 6 months (to run consecutively with the 32 months) plus 4 months for various RTA offences (to run concurrently with the 6 month sentence).
