Last time we were there we had good reception etc. with our vodafone hotspot but had limited data..
What difference, if any, has roaming charges made to the cost etc?
We'll be travelling in December.
Thanks

Just signed up with EE for one of their smart sims with eu roaming included £28 per month 200 gb 2 year contract , they have others with varying benefits and prices might be worth a look.

Depends a lot on length of trip and data usage.
Vodafone have roaming limits on contracts both on quantity and length of time roaming.
I use a Vodafone PAYG value bundle on monthly roll over, currently 20 GB for £20.
My previous contract with Vodafone was due to be put onto roaming charges in March so I cancelled the contract.
My wife has been using a PAYG sim for a few years, 9/10 months roaming without problems.
I spend most of the year in Portugal or France, currently en route from France to Portugal in Spain. Coverage varies but usually find a carrier with a decent signal.

Camp site WiFi can be very slow. You're best off getting a decent data package. I phoned Plusnet up a few months ago and they put my data allowance up from 8GB to 22GB! 🤩 So it's worth ringing them every year.
How much do you pay per month
Please 🇪🇸👍

Elaine has used Giffgaff for some years, and I've just joined after a fiasco that passes for service with Three. Giffgaff runs on O2 and [so far] has not introduced roaming charges.

We are using Plusnet sim's that use the ee network in our phones no charges for roaming.
Have a Superdrug sim in the Mifi, unlimited data £20 a month and you can turn the payment renewal off & on on their website. We are in France at the moment streaming all we can eat as they say. Only downside it's on the Three network but once you get use to swapping network carriers it's not too bad.

In Portugal NoS and other companies do data sim's for 15/20/30 days for €15/€20/€30.

Do you know if there is a monthly max usage in the EU? Some, most, have 25gb

You "might" have to pay a surcharge over 15GB but they'll let you know 🤔
