Another upgrade for the Beast

Just had confirmation that my sound system is going to be upgrade in the beast on 27th . Will have all the BT and andriod auto stuff cant wait. I am getting a sony xav-ax8150 happy boy

Just the head unit currently as i cant decide on speakers

Just remember that if the speakers are still standard you may miss out on some of the quality that the new head unit provides. I'd get them to throw in some new speaker replacements with cabling.

I've got the xav-ax8050. Screen is nice and easy to read, it's snappy and the Android Auto is reliable. Sound quality is good too. The image it manages to get out of my reversing camera is far nicer too. The only thing I'm a bit let down by is that it's not that bright, so can sometimes get washed out by bright sunlight. Also, next time I take apart the dash, I'm going to check to see if the loom has a headlight status wire because at the moment, it doesn't automatically switch to dark mode when I turn the headlights on.

For my current a-class, I put some Rockford Fosgate R1525X2 speakers in to replace the front in-dash co-axials. The sound is quite a bit better than the speakers Geist put it. In my previous panel van, I put in JBL Stage 600CE speakers and mounted the tweeters in the A pillar. They also provided a massive sound quality improvement over the crappy Fiat standard units. While I had the dash apart, I also added some extra sound insulation. I did similar on my previous panel van and it made a large difference to the road noise in the cab.

Brilliant thing, connect to your smartphone and your existing head unit will provide 1000's of radio stations, phone kit, navigation instructions and music from the phone library.
Also very useful when you park up, just plug it into any live cig socket in the van and even radios outside the van can tune into it
Much better than a new head unit that will become outdated, all you need in a vehicle these days is an audio amplifier (with a line in) and speakers

This would be a good upgrade if you have a PVC van, wouldn’t have to worry about anyone parking close to you
