not long enough
WE went to The Falls of Shin about 4 years ago, it had a mini Harrods and a café, loads of coaches always in and out

We saw salmon jumping as well then, totally unexpected, but really nice to see

Popped back in this year, nothing, completely flattened

But would make a good stop over, no obvious restrictions that we could see, bit isolated though, if you don't like the dark, don't stop over!!

Apparently the visitor centre was burnt down last May and has not been rebuilt so is much quieter now.:thumb:

I wonder who had a grudge against Mr Alfyad:winky:

On and off for many years.
I thought the salmon only leapt in the autumn going back up stream to spawn?

It depends where you are and the weather. They like to go upstream after a heavy burst of rain following a dry spell ..... this is from the Tay Salmon Fisheries Board:

"Nowadays the main first significant runs of fish into the River Tay take place from late February / March and continue through April and May........"

Different rivers and tributaries have different timings.

Another really good place to see them is on the bridge over the river at Bettws-y-coed, seen them leaping up the rocks there a couple of times but can't remember what time of year it was.
