The recent thread about water getting into a Hymer garage had me running out to the van, this morning in the sunshine, after the heavy rain of the past few days, in order to check ours.
Luckily, we haven't had water coming in, but I did notice something which has got me wondering, (worrying). On the bottom edge of the garage door, there are a couple of holes which look like redundant screw holes, and which have been left open. Has this been done for a purpose, or should they have been filled in by the manufacturer?
I've had a look under the other locker doors, and they're the same, so that either means that the holes should be there - or it means that Hymer have not been thorough in finishing the vehicle.
Could some other kind Hymer owner please have a look at theirs tomorrow, and see it theirs are the same?
Many thanks
Chris

Thanks @gus-lopez and @Figaro . This is what I'm hoping. I'd just be happy, if a Hymer owner could just confirm to me that theirs is the same.

A picture might help, as I'm not sure where these 'holes' are. I'll happily look at ours if I know where I'm looking.

Thanks very much, @Kim H . I'll do it, tomorrow. They're on the bottom edge of the door ie if you open the door and look underneath it you will see them.

Ours is an oldish Hymer, 2004, are we looking at a similar vintage?

My Hymer is from 2003. All the door frames have small holes in the bottom edges. They are to allow drainage of any water that might seep between the frame and the aluminium cladding of the bodywork. Don't fill them up!

And would be good practice to check the holes are clear of all debris periodically.

Hi. Thanks for all the replies. I think my question has been answered, and the holes are there for a purpose. I did say I'd post a photo, though, and I'just been out lying on the very damp drive and taken this one.
