I have just purchased some more 2 wheel transport, a Piaggio Vespa, (don't laugh!), GTS 300 Touring, 2 of my close mates have them, a 250 and a 300, I rode them and really liked it, just got to get used to the smaller wheels.
Not been delivered yet, probably next week before we go to Spain, so I'll post pics then, if anybody's intested.

On and off for many years.
Nothing wrong with a Vespa. If it does the job and is reliable and as safe as these things can be then what's not to like?

Spotted these Lambrettas last June at the top of the Simplon pass, the world's your oyster with two wheels.

Surprised they made it !
My only experience of scooters is being stuck behind at 40mph into a headwind, riders hiding behind leg cowl to get more speed, and daren't pass as they were being blown all over the road.
Under powered and dangerous contraptions

SWMBO has a Vespa GTS 300 which I sometimes ride, its a great urban / short distance runabout with reasonable underseat storage, we’ve also put a matching top box on it since this pic

They're alright as a means of transport from A to B if it's not too far. A second class ride is better than a first class walk after all. But no fun to ride, enjoy it if you can (n) :D

148kg is in my comfort zone these days, not able to manhandle bigger bikes around these days due to old age creeping up on me, and being a shortarse don’t help. I have a hydra trail will take it if I choose to use the VESPA,otherwise I still have my Honda SH 125 I can use.

You may take that view, but I know people who have done big mileage tours on modern Vespas with no problems, and I intend to do the same later this year.

My bike is a KTM 1090R Adventure and, whilst I wouldn’t chose it for long trips, I still manage to have some fun on the wife’s Vespa GTS 300. To be candid, I elect to jump on the Vespa in preference to the big KTM for some journeys, such as around and across town etc. Horses for courses.

I ve got the Aprilia Sport City Cube 300 which is the same power unit but with larger wheels, telescopic forks and 3 disc brakes.

IMO it beats the Vespa and was cheaper.

Hope you like your Vespa though.

Bad news, we may not be able to start a 3 man Vespa club of Norwich, as my best mate has been admitted to the Norfolk and Norwich hospital for tests, and has been told he has a malignant tumour in his bowel, after losing my brother last year and my sister 2 years before that, I keep thinking , what next Oh Please!!!!
