Apologies, I'm sure there are a ton of threads dedicated to insurance so here's my experience so far.

Comfort(as seem to be recommended on here) won't insure at our rental address until we are on the electrol roll.

Not many do online quotes so the very time consuming phoning around starts now.

Next we're trying, NFU, Club Care and Adrian Flux.
:(
Deep joy

Thats frustrating because in my experience Comforts service is top notch:(

A couple of the comparison sites will do Motorhomes, go compare & Confused.

Are you able to tell us yet which motorhome you've purchased????

You need an independent broker for flexibility, not one that is tied to one single M/H policy.

Congratulations and look forward to seeing the pics(y)

Not tried them personally but others rate NFU highly, might be worth a call to your local office

I do recall seeing some singing the praises of NFU. Also Devitts broker?

If you're still looking at mid September to take ownership, you won't need insurance until then and Mr Google suggests you can be on the electoral register in 4-6 weeks.

You may be able to shorten that time by speaking to them in person ?

I cant fault Comfort. They have been extremley helpful since purchasing my 1st home recently when I had to leave MH on neighbours driveway, prior to installing my own dirveway.

My parents have just signed up to Comfort last week on purchase of their 1st MH, their prices were "sensible" to say the least.

Have you tried Safeguard? I've found them pretty good, as have a number of others here.

Unimpressed with Comfort, not that they are willing to insure the OP's vehicle in any event.

Another vote for Safeguard

Every year for the last nine years we have been insured with either Comfort or Safeguard. We seem to alternate between the two because they have always offered an introductory discount in year 1 and then the premium increases year 2 at which point we swap again.

Tried them all (apart from NFU and I ought to try them one day) and every time we re-insure with C&CC's Club Care. Always the best price/cover for us. But then you don't live where I do, nor do you have my driving record (exemplary, of course!) or my vehicle. All these things make comparisons between us largely irrelevant  On the other hand, making a claim can be anywhere between easy and a nightmare, so that's a more useful comparison methinks. Me? I've never made a claim on our MH's, so I can't help you there

For anyone that cares  Comfort insurance sorted. Not full time because our first year we will be back home next summer so £920 including recovery service.
First MoHo insurance and zero no claims as had Mrs Dazzles insurance and company insured vehicle.

They were pretty good to deal with and insured on the private plate that isn’t even on yet, in fact the vehicle isn’t even DVLA registered yet. :(

One less thing to worry about so now just waiting for the golden ticket from DVLA (y)

Happy days.

We have just renewed our m/h insurance with the C&CC after ringing around to try to find a better quote. They were still the cheapest for us.(y)

Our cover requirement is for 180 day European cover which, we have found, some companies won't offer and others price prohibitively.
