Are you required to be a member to use this facility or can you just turn up and pay? Is it only C&CC that offer this or does the CC also?
We tried a Caravan Club site to do this and were refused in no uncertain terms. Just down the road a C&CC site couldn't have been more welcoming and agreeable. We are members of both.

The Camping and Caravan ClubLink Removed

An increasing number of Club Sites now offer a stop-off facility to use Motorhome Service Points.

For just £7.10 all Club Members can....

  • Fill up with fresh water
  • Drain waste etc
  • Use all site facilities for up to three hours

AFAIK .. The Caravan Club do not offer this service..

It was standard practice on CC Rallies, to put "grey" water into the hedgerows, where an "official" dump was not available. We actually had it in the Rally book!. We also used to DIG "Elsan" pit`s on some rallies. "Drew straws" for who backfilled them Sunday!!.

Maybe somebody could sell cartoon corks and mallets for anyone who finds this behaviour outrageous enough to do something about it. They could also have a CD with sound effects on for when you leap out of the car at the traffic lights, dive under the offending MH and hammer the cork into the waste pipe.

Half a mile down the road the MH will have filled to the brim with grey water and the submerged driver, blowing bubbles, will drive it over a cliff. Problem solved.

Apologies, newbie alert.....

Are you required to be a member to use this facility or can you just turn up and pay? Is it only C&CC that offer this or does the CC also?

In regards to camping where facilities aren't available, what do the majority of folks do to empty their grey water safely?
In a hege or in long grass

Seriously you have to pay that much.

The UK needs to get in line with New Zealand you can use PDS out here free grey and black waste with free clean water.

Times will be hard when we get back to the UK then.

Rip off Britain springs to mind
