Reading about the nightmares others have had, our experience living in France has been very different.
A few months ago a tyre on the car shredded on a dual carriageway in the middle of nowhere on a Sunday evening. Called the insurers. A truck turned up 40 minutes later, towed us to his depot to leave the car overnight, a taxi which the insured had arranged arrived at the depot just at the same time and took us home, another 50 minutes away. Tyre went about 7.30pm, by 10.30 pm we were home.
This morning, went to drive off an aire in the MH and battery had died. Called insurers (different company) , truck turned up 40 minutes later, changed the battery (had sent him a photo of van and battery so he had the correct one). All done in just over an hour.
Both simple problems luckily but hats off to the insurers and the rescue people.
