Does anyone have experience of 'Pass Pets'?
My usual vet wants to charge £250 (dog has already had Rabies Vaccination and is chipped). Pass Pets wants £99.
It seems a no brainer especially as we are going from Portsmouth where PP are based.

Passpets have a very good reputation on the AHC page in Facebook, as do Abbeywell vets.

Many thanks for the replies. Obviously some vets know a moneymaker when they see them. I'll try other more other local vets before Passpets.

We used them in April when we went over. Lovely lady runs it with her husband. Both vets, but she moved with him and only does AHC and a bit of locum work. You get a 10% discount if you used before. We’ll be using again when we go over in Sept, but hopefully will find an EU vet; poss Belgium, to supply PP for future travels.

We came back a few weeks ago. i tried 4 vets in various locations to try to obtain a euro Passport, every one said the same thing, you need a permanent residence. I even lied to the 3rd one and told him we owned a static mobile home, and still could not get one.

yet my mate returned a couple of weeks before us and managed to get one by giving the campsite address

I live in hope. 🤞🏻 Were they all French or from different countries?

Just checking that you haven’t already got your AHC for your September trip - they have to be used within 10 days of issue.

With PassPets, you fill out an online questionnaire and then book your appointment to see them and collect it. They look over the form straight away and query if you’ve not filled out or filled it incorrectly. I too hope he hasn’t got the AHC already as that an expensive over sight.
PassPets then ask you to ask your vet to e-mail them your dogs clinical history so they can check booster dates etc.
When collecting mine, we were informed that we could have a snag at tunnel as we were travelling within 21 days of the rabies booster as the form cannot state booster or initial vaccine date and a good idea to take original PP with us. Sure enough we were challenged on it and provided our PP which clearly states booster. 👍🏻 Very good service from them.

Just use Abbeywell in Folkestone they have it well sorted. 10 mins from mrs leaving to getting back and 5 mins of that must have been the walking to and from the building

I have just sent you a PM listing French vets that are known to have recently issued Pet Passports to Brits. If any other subscribing Funster reading this thread would like a copy, just send me a PM.

Why don't you get an EU pet passport? We got ours last year in France for €90 for 2 dogs including a 3 year rabies jab, didn't need to register the chip and used our UK address.

Used them for our 2 pups AHC before we went over and got them pet passports.

Very efficient and quick to come back to emails.
I just sent all the info requested a week before our visit and when we arrived it was all ready to go.
Easy parking in the lay-by on the Hayling road and then a 2 minute walk to them.

Good luck.

And a bonus they are only 5 minutes drive from us😁

The vet we went to in March wouldn't give us one. However, we will ask our regular vet in Germany when we are over in August.
