We kept the backing paper and peeled the stickers back off when we left France put them back in the cupboard for next time..

Hi Jon
Hope you are both well and enjoying life, We are still hoping to go Morocco Jan . to split the 90 day allowance in Europe. Can you remember where you bought the stickers from and did they peel off easily.
Best wish's
Derek

I used magnetic ones for the front and normal stickers on the rear. The stickers look like they'll fall off in time anyway, already peeling at the edges. The ones on the trucks in the EU are all half hanging off or are in bits.

I can only comment that when we were in France in August approx 0.1% of Motorhomes of all sizes and nationalities have the angles mortes stickers.

We saw one Brit van and one French van wearing them. The Brit van was very big and obviously over 3.5t. The French van seemed to be using them to cover earlier body damage. They were in strange places.

Certainly this was the case in July. Most of the MHS with them on were uk or German.

Hi Derek

Ebay, someone in rochdale, cost about a tenner.

Yes working on Sue for Maroc, will give you a shout if it happens :giggle:

If you so pleased to be out of EU, why don't you just stay at home??

I am also extremely pleased to be out of the EU. It doesn't mean that I feel any less affection for Europe. EU and Europe are two entirely different things.

Back to the stickers, I think that the current animosity between UK and France means that I will simply stick them on, if only to avoid a grumpy Gendarme.

Been in France for a month now and there are only a few French vans with stickers on.
Most of those a the larger 'liner' class vans so well over 3.5t.
Lots of German vans have them (they are a law abiding lot and have big vans) and out of the few Brit vans we’ve seen one or two have them on.
Do bear in mind that the plug ugly stickers are only required in urban areas, not out in the country or on main roads/motorways, so if you tend to keep away from large town/city centres you won’t need them.

Mine are still hidden away in a locker. :giggle:

Richard.

Check out the classified ads there’s a fella advertising them for free, page 2

I used magnetic on the front and a sticky one on the back. The sticky one has peeled off quite well and I'm sure it won't leave anything permanent behind. Saw lots of them in use.

Been in France over a week only seen 1 French van with them on, seen quite a few lorries without them
Mine are in a cupboard somewhere in the van.
We just returned yesterday from a week at the Paris motorhome show then back via Normandy Aires and we saw lots and lots of vans with them on. If they displayed the (ugly) 70,80,90 stickers on the rear, (over 3500kg/hgv) they had the angles morts stickers as well.

Probably not worth giving the insurance company an excuse to wriggle??

I carried mine in the Motorhome ( 2x magnetic 1x sticker) for our French trip but left them in the cupboard the whole time.
We did see alot of motorhomes with them on,mainly in the South.

Sallylilian yours look professionally made we’re did yours come from please. With the suckers on the back.

We have been in the EU and Croatia for over a month now. A straw poll on literally hundreds of Motorhomes over 3.5 with stickers in Croatia was zero.
Not seen any on any Motorhomes in Italy or southern France. Like LennyHB we have some in the van somewhere.

1sAnother good reason for leaving the EU.Another regulation😊We have already had the breathalyser farce!
Had we stayed in the EU we would not have needed these stickers.
Any motorhomers now going to EU know it's a lot harder and more expensive to travel following the rules that we were instrumental in creating when we were part of the union.

Yes we would need the stickers if we had remained in the EU, even EU motors over 3.5t have them. To think that only non EU members vehicles need the stickers is a little strange.

Yeah we would!! The EU isn't beating up on UK!! Everyone is having to use them, not just independent countries who have left the EU.

We were strong in the EU we could have voted against it. We didn't have to be a 3rd country with all the sanctions we helped devise.

I don’t think we would have even bothered voting. It’s only France that require them so nothing to do with any other country. Whether that country is inside or outside the EU. Basically, their country, their rules. As it should be.

A Belgium friend has ordered me four signs that have a clear metallic sicker which sticks to the outer wall of our MH. Apparently the stick is invisible. Then the signs are magnetically fix when is use and can be removed at will. I am expecting a delivery by the first week of November, so I will update you all on whether they are good purchase and where they can be sourced:)

Why would we have voted against it?
It is all about cyclist safety in urban areas. I think that they are ugly, but then my bus is 3500 and we don't have to wear them.

More importantly, as Glenn says, this is French thing, not an EU thing. I spy a straw man on the horizon...
