Lifted this from a community site, this is how the thieves operate. A cordless angle grinder will whip off a lock that secures a bike to a post or rear mounted bike carrier in seconds.

Yep. There is not much that they can’t cut through.

That one should have been taken off the scrote and used to cut his hand off!
If I had been there I would have done my best to take it from him. Shame about the accidental collateral damage...

Health and safety exec should look at this and prosecute, No safety Gloves, Safety Glasses and worse of all No safety Guard around the grinding wheel. So once the police have done him for nicking the bike I suspect he would get a higher fine and jail time for breaking Health and safety at work rules.

Battery machines are highly portable and powerful they will take a stop lock out in seconds, you have to be a bit more careful with a Clutch claw and a little more time for a wheel clamp. I used one to remove a tow ball lock it took about 13 seconds to cut through the steel like butter.

Where is there a crime.
I see a young man holding an angle grinder near some bikes.

Released mlud he was just helping test his angle grinder for a school project on a mates bike :fubar:

Being perfectly serious, the crime is (or was) 'Going equipped to steal', a very useful device in my day...
