Getting better
We have booked tickets for the concert on 20/12/19 and plan to stop at the Marina Motorhome stopover from the 19th Dec but not sure as to how long to stay. We intend to stay over the Christmas break for 10 days in Europe and are interested if anyone has stayed over this period, where they travelled and what they did.
Not done Germany, Belgium or Holland yet in the Motorhome
Good recommendations for a Christmas lunch would be great and afford me the opportunity of not having to cook.

Have you booked a stopover at the Marina yet as with the concert and Christmas markets it will be very busy and looks full (for reservations) at the moment. Another option would be Valkenburg as I believe the campsite runs a bus to the concert which is about 25 minutes away. For Christmas the Eifel National Park area is nice we went to Monschau in Germany an old medieval town just across the border or further south to Bavaria would be good but any aires/campsites in the German ski areas would also need booking. Otherwise the Netherlands would be good to explore and easy to find places for Christmas lunch in the main cities. Most of mainland Europe celebrate the evening of the 24th, the 25th is a holiday and the 26th is a normal day.

Thanks orridge great info just what I had hoped. Will check and hope to be able to use the Marina but otherwise grateful for the recommendation of an alternative stopover.

You can also get a train from Valkenburg. The train station is around 15 mins walk from the campsite. If you enter from Valkenburg you need to drive past the camp site up to the next roundabout and back down again since the turn is too sharp and steep to enter from the town. The campsite also has an air attached if you don't want to use the site facilities.

The Valkenburg Christmas Markets, which are underground in caves are also worth a visit.

Thanks awg really great info. Getting concerned about availability having already invested in tickets to concert and awaiting son and fiancé arrangements to join us.
Sorry for the delay in responding as currently in Australia on the Gold Coast With 10 hour time difference.
Knowing you guys have had such horrid weather back home I’m reluctant to say that the last 4 weeks enjoying low 30’s and not a drop of rain. Well someone has to suffer it I suppose.
Once again Many Thanks.
