Thought this might happen after brexit. New restrictions on Voxi mobile data usage abroad so now my allowance is 20gb when out of the UK instead of 60gb. Anybody with a Vodafone plan receive a similar text as Voxi are a subsidiary of the company.

I'll be looking at different plans when I get back to the UK in May so any recommendations would be appreciated. I thought only Vodafone and Voxi allowed use of your full allowance abroad (except unlimited plans) so that's good to know about Virgin. How good was their coverage abroad? We were in Spain till 10th April and still had full allowance from Virgin.
Well it changes to the strongest provider as you move about but 99.9% of the time on 4g because of the great Spanish coverage. I have a 100gb contract with a 50gb rollover and as a test I used 122gb by watching F1, films and catchup on the telly.I'll be looking at different plans when I get back to the UK in May so any recommendations would be appreciated. I will be looking to change, swmbo has recently had her Plusnet plan upgraded to unlimited texts and calls with 20gb on a 30 day contract for £10 and she's had good coverage most places we've been in Europe. I was expecting the phone plan providers to stick to their promise not to change tariffs, charges etc for a few months after brexit then do one of two things: keep their promise unilaterally or revert back to charging for roaming unilaterally. We will see but where's there's money to be made...I would change provider. Hopefully one will see sense and the opportunity to pick up lots of new customers. I'm with o2 and as far as I'm aware they haven't notified any amendments yet.
Virgin Mobile are switching from EE to Vodaphone later this year so better check in relation to your first question.I'll be looking at different plans when I get back to the UK in May so any recommendations would be appreciated. This is the info on my 60gig Vodafone contract.
*Data usage when roaming has a 25GB roaming fair use policy per billing month in Roam-Free, Global Roaming Plus and Roam-Further destinations. We will notify you as you approach this threshold and again once reached. If you reach this threshold, you will then be charged at a rate of £3.13 per 1GB to continue using data in a Roam-Free, Global Roaming Plus or Roam-Further destination until your monthly allowance renews. Please go to vodafone.co.uk/travelling for details of our Roaming Fair Use Policy
During any 4 month period, if you roam in the Europe Zone or in the Global Roaming Plus destinations for 62 days or more AND your corresponding roaming usage exceeds your usage within the UK, you may incur additional roaming charges. We will send you notification two weeks prior to charging you any additional roaming charges, to allow you time to adjust your usage accordingly. These additional roaming charges will be:
• £0.033 per minute for calls
• £0.01p per SMS
• £3.13per 1GB of data
That's similar to mine, it's a shame about the reduced data usage. The extra charges seem quite reasonable for the calls and minutes mind you, a small comfort I supposeThis is the info on my 60gig Vodafone contract.

Had a look at the pdf, it looks good thanksIf you can do sim only Superdrug seem to be a good deal, the unlimited package at £20 month seems a great deal they say you can use your whole allowance in the EU, see the link to their price guide.
I will monitor Vodafone to see if things change though I prefer to have a 30 day contract sim so I can cancel at any time if required. I've been using the Voxi sim abroad since August last year without any warnings or problems and it was the same with PlusnetI have a Vodafone 60Gb 12 month contract which I started last August while in the UK but only started using it at the beginning of February in Portugal after cancelling a Vodafone 100Gb contract when given the option because of changes to roaming.
I have used the full 60Gb each month and as yet have had no notification of extra charges after the 2 month period.

Had a look at Smarty, it also looks good thanksSmarty do a Sim only unlimited data, month by month, contract for £20.
At the moment our contract is £10 for 30gb. Turn off the auto renew and only credit when you want to. You have 180 days to put some credit on.
They are part of the 3 group.Had a look at Smarty, it also looks good thanks

Yep. Believe it or not when I was negotiating our phone contract renewal with 3, I played them off against what Smarty were offering.....and they beat it (for our phone contract that is)! They are part of the 3 group.

Agreed. They certainly do on International roaming. They enforced it when we were last in Spain in Autumn 2020.At the moment Smarty have a cap on roaming.
You will have to have a look at the exact wording but ID mobile part of car phone warehouse using the 3 network as is Smarty, claim that their roaming is unlimited providing you do not use more data abroad than you do when at home over a four month period. At the moment Smarty have a cap on roaming.
