If anyone is contemplating this crossing this year it might be worth a visit to the Snav website at the moment.

They are currently doing a Christmas/New Year offer of about 25% off normal prices. I've just booked a one-way ticket Ancona-Spilt, end of July, 2 adults, 6.4m PVC, 2 berth outside cabin (12 hour overnight crossing) for Euro 250. Cheapest on other sites I could find was Euro 329. Jadrolinija don't have any crossing bookable for July at the moment but mid June is Euro 300 for the same.

I agree, which is normally what we would do. North of Zadar is destination. Going to a concert in Monza/Milan 25th July then possibly down to 100km north of Rome to sister in law's place so it's a practical thing. 380km drive as opposed to nearly 1000km.
