since 2006 ( I think ! )
All over the estate we live on are lines of really weird shaped pines
Planted about 1750, and kept cut down to 6ft and used as hedgerows, they were left unkempt when all the local men were dragged off to the Napoleonic wars
Left to their own devices they became full sized trees, but horribly distorted and misshaped .
They are now all under a protection order ( and causing chaos as their roots attack the footings off all the houses around them !

We visited the 5000-year old yew at Fortingall a couple of weeks ago.

We have a very old sweet chestnut in our village where we live. When I figure out how to add a photograph I will post one.

We have the Bowthorpe Oak close by rumoured to be 1000 years old. Not well known, however, hugely impressive (and expensive to visit)

The Sweet chestnut tree is said to date back to the 12th century, I think it’s amazing and love taking our visitors for a walk and watching their faces when we stumble upon this beautiful tree.

In the north east corner of Astbury churchyard is an extraordinary yew tree thought to be 2000 years old. It is hollow now - not surprising - and propped to prevent it from falling, but still a living tree. Cromwell was rumoured to have hidden in the yew tree.
All of my family are buried here and my plot is reserved.

Tewksbury Abbey has some wonderful looking trees in it's grounds. Hav'n't a clue how old they are.
