I have a Find My Past subscription but not Ancestry so if anyone is willing and able could they look something up for me? If not I will go to the library next week :)

Thanks,

Helen

Helen, I'm not at home but have just logged in on my tablet. PM me if you prefer and any advice how to do what you want would be very helpful! I'm no expert on it. :)

Many thanks - I have had a private offer (no sniggers at the back).

I rather think what is found will have been shocking in it's day but it will add spice to what was otherwise an interesting but righteous and God Fearing family.

Divorce / annulment in the 1880s and I rather think one of my ancestors was named but now need to prove it.

Even better is that the family scroll only gives the lady's first name and no other details...... which always makes me want to know a lot more. It's the black sheep that make family history fun.

It was Ghengis Khan. Apparently we are all related to him somehow. Or it might have been Attilla the Hun, I'm not sure now.......

Ghengis I think .... or was it Billy the Illegitimate, Duke of Normandy?
