My eldest works for a company that specialize in getting company's who want to be at the top of the search list without paying Google for the privilege, he says that the business is directly due to Goggles aggressive tracking.

Not surprised Doug ... and there are plenty of comments about tracking on the forum..

I'm trying it today and so far can't find a problem.. but whether it does what it says on the tin is another question ...

Just tried Staring Page and my phone crashed!

Guess it is a sign to stay with Google...

Still, apart from Fun I only surf porn sites, bomb making sites and the odd terrorist one so I don't mind being tracked...

Glad to see you've given up the drug-running sites. Don't want to expose yourself to danger :roflmto:

do you mean it needs a handle on the side

Does that mean JJ it will work with a handle on the side to wind up the guts? ... I am having enough issues getting settled in using the new MacBook Pro without trying to change the search engine... just have to put up with the dating sites on MHF..

    Yes.

But I've the feeling we aren't going to win this one.

Google exists by spying, it always did and we dumb clucks did all we could to assist it, we still do.

It gave Android away. No such thing as a free meal. Everything your Android device does it does with Google permission.

It's going to give the free PC version away.

Think of all the Big Brother Sci Fi films you've watched, they're not fiction any more or won't be in another few years.

So, assume we live in a world where everything we type, see, listen to, buy, sell is logged and the data sold for profit. What impact does that have on us and the world ?

Let's have a debate on this.

RIM know exactly where you are Jim, and where you've been. From looking at your previous movements; a ten pence script will probably predict exactly where you'll be tomorrow::bigsmile:

I get none of the adverts since installing Adblocker, only the sponsored links at the RHS.

It is strange... Many, many things about the modern world really annoy me and I value my privacy quite a lot (many people don't even know my real name) but CCTV cameras and companies gathering data about what I buy and what websites I go to have never bothered me.

Must be something wrong with me... Or maybe not having an address shields me from the nuisense junk mail etc.
