You will need:
A medium size mixing bowl
A frying pan
A fork
A tablespoon
A teacup or a mug
A fork
A spatula or fish slice
Ingredients
3 well heaped tablespoons of self-raising flour
2 tablespoons sugar - caster is best but granulated will do
2 dollops of mayonnaise
1 large egg
1 teacup full or 2/3 of a mug of milk
1 tablespoon of oil
Method
Put the dry ingredients into the bowl and sir round with the fork.
Add the other ingredients except the oil (break the egg into the bowl and discard the shell!)
Use the fork to mix it all together until you get a smooth batter.
Heat the oil in the fryng pan until hot
Plop tablespoons of the batter into the hot oil. (You will have to make several batches to use the batter.)
When the top is just about set flip them over with the spatula and let them brown on the other side
Serve hot with maple syrup or honey or cream or whatever you want.
