Hi folks

Thought I'd better stick a few words down to introduce myself.

Just migrated from the other MH forum, thought it was about time to broaden my horizons.

Okay, me and the OH have been motor homing for some years, tried tents and caravans prior to buying our first MH and have never looked back.

Spent a goodly portion of my youth with HM's Grey Funnel Line, specifically the Fleet Air Arm, something I wouldn't have missed and would heartily recommend to any youngster looking to get out into the big wide world.

I spent a goodly time working in the dark murky world of HGV mechanics before deciding to have a change - heck, what a change that was - I became a civil (or as a lot would say 'uncivil') servant working for VOSA in Enforcement which gave me a fairly good knowledge of Road Traffic Law.

The OH spent her formative years in the WRENS, (that's how we met folks) then became a mother and keeper of the purse. after the kids grew up, she went to work for BBC Local Radio, doing the "OMG it's early" shift for over 20 years before being made redundant in the cuts last year. At a rather fortunate time she would add.

So, now retired and spending much more time travelling to places we've not been before, mainly due to lack of time (that awful four letter word 'work' kept getting in the way).

Now on our 5th MH (2nd Hymer) and loving it, we had the previous one for 7 years - hopefully it's the last - don't think I can afford to do it again!!

Anyway, that's me and her - hopefully we'll get to meet up with a few of you on our travels, both in the UK and across the water.

Are you going to like it here? That is entirely up to you everyone is an individual in their own right and everyone has different tastes.

There are funsters of all ages, all sexes, from a variety of different backgrounds all over the world.

I came across motorhomefun accidently but have never needed to go to any other forum, thats how friendly and helpful I have found this organisation. There are only a few simple rules to keep to.

The thing I like is that no one is forced to comment or join in with anything, its always your choice, there is no real hierarchy and it doesn't matter where you are from or how rich or poor you are, every funster is treated the same

Having made so many friends over the years I really look forward to the shows and rallies I am able to attend I hope you enjoy FUN as much as I have

There’s a Kris and a Chris and a handful of Griffs,

An old Mo, two Joys and a Ron.


There’s three or four Smithies and a Fine brace of ShiftZZ,

A Geo two Karls and a Ray,

I checked with the list and unless I am pissed

we’ve even got two tame JJ’s. (Jersy Jo)


We’ve got a Minx and a Sedge, Two Carols and a Reg,

A Freddie and a Frankie as well,

There’s Scotty and Sam and Jake and Siobhan

Lets not forget Ash or Mell.


I forgot about Lynn, Brisey, Big Jim

and Sian and Katy too,

Amanda and Phil and lets not forget Bill

Roger, Peter three Pams, more still.


We’ve got Ivy and Ken, Pat and Big Ben,

Brian, Julian, Grenville and Terry

Rick, Dick and big Mick, overlooked Nick

And very nearly Graham and Gerry

I could go on all night but you’d all get uptight

And ban me under Rule ONE
