Still looking into external storage. We would need an aluminium box fitted to the tow bar underneath the bike rack. Does anyone have this set up? If so, how does the box fit to the tow bar and are you happy with it?

Many thanks
Jenny

We looked into this but in the end had a cloth bag made up at our local sailomakers out of waterproof sail material to our own design & measurements. It sits on a solid piece of wood and we get so much stuff in it there is hardly anything in our van!! Cost £135 incl vat.

Waterproof bag

Thanks very much Jaygee. Thats certainly something to think about. We'd need to fix it to the towbar somehow as we want to continue to take our bikes on the bike rack. Maybe we'd have to invest in a Thule carrier if it would fit beneath the bike rack.
