Spoke to Alugas at Caravan Salon. Because of the new valves on the bottles the price has shot up a lot but still a good deal.

To get a bottle refurbished its now €180 but for another €20 you can exchange for a brand new bottle. Also you can swap a 11kg for a 14kg, I think that was another €20.

Can only be done at the factory and you need to email to make an appointment.
Takes 1 to 2 hours to have them refurbished.

Just check what you can get in your locker of your 141 as I can’t fit a 14kg in the c-line, only 11’s

Think might be a daft question but if I need to make this part of a German trip would bottles need to be empty or can the deal will some gas? Ours are due next year.

Don’t forget that the ‘handles/collars’ on the cylinders are removable if that helps.

Both the 11kg and 14kg are 300mm diameter.

Respectively they are 600mm and 700mm high - 575mm and 680mm with the collars removed.

I have a 11 and a 14 removed from a previous van cos I wanted to fit them in this van but with collars removed the 14kg is too high😤😤

? Why would they?

Gaslow have their own recertification/replacement scheme - details here.
Sorry, tongue in cheek :giggle: .
But I'm sure I read on MHF that Gaslow weren't doing refurbishments at present so thanks for your link. Mine is okay for a few more years anyway

Wouldn't mind getting mine exchanged for new at £20 each, but Germany is a long way to go for an exchange, Don't they have this exchange scheme in UK.
Just askin.

It's €200, €20 on top of the refurb cost.
Can only be done at the factory in Germany.
Just have a bit of a detour when on a trip.

Just askin.

Isn’t it £180 per cylinder for the refurbishment + the £20 extra for a full exchange = £200 total?

AFAIK it’s the problem of finding a carrier willing to transport s/h refillable cylinders back to the manufacturer that means they can only be dealt with direct - and that applies to all the brands.

Edit - quick draw Lenny beat me to it!

I asked that question, they don't need to be empty.

Well that was silly buyiny a van with a silly little gas locker wasn't it?

Plenty of room in a CompactLine as they have a slide out option so locker is really tall.

That must be new then. I can just about get a 10Kg & a 7.5Kg Safefill in mine. I noticed on a newish Compactline recently that the locker positions are different.
