Hymer B668 (2017)

Hi there,

I have a 2017 Hymer B668, based on the Fiat Ducato 3L. I'm looking at options to upgrade the alternator.

I'm planning to regularly pull 140A from B2B chargers for charging a LiFePO4 bank of batteries.

General advice is appreciated, but here are some specific questions I have:

Roughly how much headroom should I be looking for above the 140A for vehicle electrics?
- I have a 90A B2B in my X5 running off a 230a stock alternator, while that works great I'm not sure I could get that kind of headroom in the Hymer.
Any specific models I should be looking for? From casual browsing, I'm not seeing options above 180-200A
Is a dual alternator an option on this vehicle?

Given the power i'm planning to pull from this, i'm looking for the most robust option I can find, not sure if a dual alternator (assuming it's possible) would be more reliable vs pulling so much from one alternator, or if the added complexity would be a concern.

Thanks!
Mike
