Hi,

We’ve used pitchup.com quite a lot for finding decent sites with reviews for our UK touring with great success, we find the site is busy enough to get a decent spread of reviews to allow you to make an informed opinion.

Hoping to venture to France for the first time this summer and wondered if there was an equivalent for there? I know pitchup themselves have European listings but is there a bigger French equivalent we’ve missed?

I use a combination of the CamperContact app and the ACSI books. Other apps and websites are available such as search4sites and park4night. Find the one which works for you. :)
You probably wont get the ACSI discount when you are going but the sites listed are all generally good.
There is a third option, which I also use from time to time. Just open up Google maps for the area you are interested in and type "camping" in the search field. Check the reviews and websites of the sites which are shown. I suspect this latter method might well overtake all others eventually. :)

All the Aires if you like a book to look at. Lots say its out of date but once you have a copy, you can keep for years thus making it cheaper than yearly subscriptions. Ours is 8 years old and still good, so costs around 2. 50/3.00 a year.
I have also used ACSI at great sites and good discounts except July and August. Recommended. Also camper contact for some.

Thanks all, I’ll give all your suggestions a go.

Just a slight ammendment to DBK's post.

'park4night' is correct but it is 'searchforsites', not with number 4.

Both those and campercontact are available free if you use the online internet connection, depending on your phone contract, or they are available for a subscription to download to use offline.

We use them on-line but we have a generous Gb allowance. That way we get the latest updated info.
