has anybody ever replaced parts of the outer alloy skin on an older motorhome? if so where did you buy the replacement alloy skin ,is it readily available and is it expensive ,any help appreciated

I neglected to reseal when I knew the top rails were leaking!now done but some corrosion has appeared in alloy skin! Interested to see if anyone has any experience with fitting alloy skins!

What sort of aluminium....smooth,rippled
What shape......flat,ridged
What length of panel.....whole roof or just a side strip

My last van was rebuilt completely 👍

Mine are just flat panels and its only the top half of body!

Hi it's a few years since I needed any (new roof) but I found a sheet steel surplier and he got me Ali sheets 👍10ft X 5 ft . Also if you go to a caravan repair place they should be able to put you in touch with surplier. You can get full caravan sides etc, they come rolled up 😉 They are only .6 mm thick so very flexible

ok thanks for all the replys it was a motorhome I had been to look at on e bay but when I looked at it it had not been described very well ,I would have bid on it but the bidding went silly so I did not bid I hope the winning bidder had been to look at it or he will be in for a shock
