all season tyres

I have noticed that all season tyres are an option with some new Panel Van conversions . I will only use my new vehicle in the UK but all year round. I have a few questions :

Are they worth the extra money?
Do they wear out quicker than standard tyres and are they easily sourced for replacement?
Do they give a decrease in fuel economy?
Do they actual make driving safer in all weather conditions

Are they worth the extra money? Yes.
Do they wear out quicker than standard tyres and are they easily sourced for replacement? No & Yes.
Do they give a decrease in fuel economy? No.
Do they actual make driving safer in all weather conditions. Haven't tried them in ALL weather conditions.

Plus they grip better on grass.
