Alde system without a header tank. Just been looking at a c/van and can't find the Alde header tank. Engineer  said it was a pressurised system that does not have a header tank. Does such a thing exist?

Ours is a angled corner in the shower, just a little lift out panel for access but you would need to know to find it.

Not only is he purporting to be an Engineer, he’s pretending to know what he’s talking about.

Looks like you need to find a new plumber.👍

This was the "chief engineer" at a caravan sellers who was trying to convince me that there was no header tank in a caravan they were / are selling. I wanted to see what colour fluid was in the system to ensure it had been serviced. He assured me that it would not matter as if I bought the van it would be thoroughly serviced. I'm not convinced :cautious:;).

He’s clearly talking bollocks and trying to pull the wool over peoples eyes. Having the coolant changed to the long life stuff in an Alde system isn’t cheap and they certainly wouldn’t do it on a pre sale check.

Think it will be hidden somewhere, ours is behind a small door next to the bed. Someone on the Knaus FB had a problem with his heating and I suggested he checked level, he’d had the van for 2 years after buying new and never knew it was there.

I had a bit of a search to find ours in our Hymer. Handbook is very generic. Ours is behind an oblong panel held by Velro in the corner of the shower. Wherever it is, it will be high up.

This is ours
