We arrived at VanBitz late last night to have some work done and before going to bed I stuck the hot water on electric only and it was still cold this morning, I then pressed the shower/water symbol a to boost and still cold.

The water has been bled through and I’ve checked all the trip switches and can’t see anything wrong, as anyone any ideas?

If you go onto the Aldi heating website they have a goon Q&A section and are very good at replying to email problems. Or ring Aldi uk. It sounds like the heating element has failed.

Ask Eddie ?

I mentioned it to the guy who took the van think it was Dave he said he’d have a quick look that nothing had tripped

Hi Gerry

Hope you get it sorted pronto, sorry I couldn't help but got to say thank you for reminding me that I have not tried our van on EHU yet;) so straight-out and got the lead out plugged into van and then to house but there were two sockets and no plug  Ah we had a mouse in the garage at home over winter and it chewed the EHU lead so I cut the wire and removed the plug which was all rusted inside so I fitted a new SOCKET;) good job I wasn't on a campsite and wanting electric.

Monday to Friday only I am afraid. But they are back at work and answering their phones weekdays.

As with the Truma system it takes a lot longer to heat up just using electricity than gas. What Alde system do you have and does it have a touchscreen control panel? What power rating (kw) have you chosen?

Have you got your heating set at 26.5? If so all the power is probably going to the heating?

If it was COLD cold rather than luke warm and not tripped its probably a blown heating element.
Like a light bulb, there's no warning it's going.

That’s the same as mine, I only selected the shower one not the KW as I thought that was heating. Should I select the power also and just turn the heating temp to low.

it does indeed, 1kw will barely take the chill off. 2kw will heat it slowly. 3kw will heat it faster. gas will heat it quickly
I thought the KW setting was just for heating

Worth a try
If your display can match ours and still doesn't work the heating element maybe the issue

We’ve just arrived back at VanBitz so will try this tonight, thanks.

No,it's the power that the boiler/heater is allowed to consume. So affects both

Easily done as the instruction book is a translation of a Swedish original and is more than a tad confusing

Instruction book ?? 😂😂😂

I did read it and can’t remember seeing it mention you had to use kw setting.

You can't have heating without hot water (unless you have no water in) essentially they are two concentric tanks with the heat going into the glycol mix heating fluid first and then heating the domestic hot water, when you turn off the heating or it turn itself off by the thermostat you are actually just turning off the pump. You can end up with tepid domestic hot water if you have the pump set to continuous instead of therm.

Think you will be sorted now, the 1kW will definitely get your water warm presuming it is working ! 👍

if cold and you need heat, you will do better on gas and at least 2kW

give me a call if still stuck, think we have the same controller 👍

Alde is closed as of 4pm yesterday for 3 weeks. Two weeks is their normal summer shutdown, but they are closing for 3 weeks to align with some of their customers dowtown in workflow i.e. Hymer Group and Swift Group. Alde Sweden closes for 4 weeks in the summer. No wonder their kit is expensive.

The more "Tech" they put into `vans the worse it gets. Needing a degree in computer science to programme a Heater. When all you need is a switch or two and a thermostat?. Modern "designers" have forgotton the "KISS" process?
