From someone sitting in the cold. Before scrolling through all the posts, can anyone point me towards a starting point. The gunk in the tank of my alde system is as it should be. Hot water runs from taps. Temp for domestic heating set at a max of 20 degrees. Radiator in shower room starts to heat up, pipes from radiator tank warm up and then, after a short time and before any significant heat is detected it all comes to a standstill. Any advice please.

Set it a bit hotter, the temp sensor may not be set correctly. Gas is faster than elec

That’s odd, have you made sure all the bleed nipples are free of air?

Normally if they don’t work they will throw up a code.

They also have a valve that requires a little pump pressure to force open, that may be stuck. On the side of the pump will be a dial where you can turn the pump up. You will hear it speed up as you turn it.

Whack it to 5 and see what happens, but remember to turn it down again to 2.

I had a similar problem on a 3020 Alde boiler, fitted to a Rapido in 2020, if you have the same system and a pump external to the boiler I can talk you through the solution that Alde Technical talked me through a couple of days ago; they were excellent in their advice and fault finding over the telephone.

Thanks, I am on the way to park up in Devizes car park for a couple of days so that I can go through all the advice I have so far received (keep it coming). This is another instance that reminds me what a good move it was to join Fun.

Thanks to all for assistance. I had a leisure battery failure a few days before this trip and eventually discovered that I needed to re-set Alde system. Heating is working now but when home again will drain down and bleed. If any of you guys who offered advice are going to Swaffham in May, look me up and bring your own wine glass 🍷🥂!

Glad you got sorted, if it works well today I would leave well alone , should be no need to drain or bleed

We went to Alde HQ for a fluid change and service, not cheap but came away with absolute assurance all was working

We needed a new pump which made our bill much higher I have just recalled , I queried noisy pump and they found Hymer had fitted a non Alde pump, virtually silent now 👍
