Hi All,

Looking to buy a MH and been advised to to go with one with the ALDE system. What should I be looking out for with this system? Are there any common issues with them?

TA Steve

We have the Alde system and love it, the only issue is it takes a bot longer to heat than the blow air. The reason for this is it heats the whole van at the same time where as the blow air feels warmer if sitting next to outlet but van will have cold spots, plus Alde is so much quieter.

I'm pretty new to the ALDE since buying my last van 2 years ago but love it compared to the old gas fires and blown air we had in all the past previous British vans. Warms the whole van unlike before where it was hot when you stood up and your feet were freezing.
Like everything you hear of some issues, parts can and do fail.
The system has an antifreeze in the tank and there is a 2 years (blue) and 5 year version (pink) So if your buying off a dealer I would request that it has new antifreeze done and the 5 year one . (y)

Have a look on youtube as lots of videos on there and will give you an insight.

Having worked in the heat pump industry for over ten years I find the requirement for the expensive replacement of the heat transfer fluid that they call antifreeze a total con.
To stop your system freezing when stood idle in winter you need to protect it for sure but we used Sentinal R500 for ground source heat pumps and R600 for air source heat pumps. The R600 has inhibitors to protect radiators and that would be suitable in my mind for the Alde systems too.
As you can see it doesn’t need replacing, ever.
