Hi

I posted a couple of days ago saying that my Alde heating system worked fine on gas but not on electric. It turned out that the system fuse had tripped and after reset it all seemed fine.

It does indeed work on electric but the system fuse now keeps tripping. Even if it’s the only thing on in the van it will trip. It may last several hours but it will definitely trip at some point during the day.

We are currently on EHU in the UK.

Any advice, again, would be greatly appreciated

I did wonder on your other post what else might be on the same breaker, in ours everything comes off 2 breakers

are you totally sure nothing else comes off the same breaker, there will be a few things on in the background

fridge, charger and all the sockets at least

This is the fuse box. The double fuse on the right seems only to run the heating and an air conditioning unit that is switched off. This is the one that trips. Everything else in the van still works ok when the heating/ air con trips.

There have been issues where Dometic air con units have mounted below Alde systems

ours is like that, any small leak from the Alde system could then get into critical bits on the air con ?

might be a red herring but a known issue

Might help if you updated you profile so people know what van you are taking about, someone may have had the same problem on the same van.

I’d speculate that there’s an earth fault on the 1kw heating element.

My 1kw element trips the breaker. Alde are looking at it in January together with a few other issues and a fluid change

When you say mounted below Alde what do you mean as mine is in a roof light?

you will be fine then, on mine the Dometic air con is on the floor in the garage, with the whole Alde system then fitted on top of it

So far not an issue for me, but i know at least one has leaked and caused the air con to fail :(
