Some....good & bad!
Hi, Alde 3020 system issue.
Can't seem to get the heating to run on gas when off grid.
The pump runs fine when on hookup, so I know that works.
The boiler is running fine as we have hot water, so I know that works.
The circulation symbol is active on the screen suggesting circulation pump is running but it's not.
Room temp is 17c and demanded temp is 21c so it should be running.
Any ideas?

Check your offset, I had to adjust mine 5dgs before the boiler kicked in

I’d try upping the temp to 29 to see if it kicks in

It COULD be the battery voltage is low and the voltage drop along the wire to the boiler means the pump won't run. On EHU the battery charger makes up the difference

Fluid level fine, battery fine, set to 29c, still not running. I'll try Alde since they are local.

Check the wires near to the header tank. Give them a slight tug, sometimes there can be a bad connection.

Maybe obvious ,,,BUT ,have you taken the cover off the exhaust vent ?? !!
As I stated, the gas boiler is running fine and providing hot water so I doubt checking the flue cover will achieve much, particularly since I don't have one. What is not happening is the pump is not operating and pumping the heating fluid around even though the circulation symbol is active in the display.
If I switch to electric, the system works perfectly.

That happened to me so I changed the vertical pump for a inline one. It wasn't that: the non-return valve in the boiler had reversed itself so I took off the hose and fixed it. I used tighter cable ties though to keep it in place!

You have worked out quite logically that it is the pump when on gas that is not running so have you followed Westy’s suggestion and checked that pump is set to run on 12v.

Hi,
I have not found where the option to change that is. I don't see anything on the Alde control panel?
According to Alde manual, one merely needs to select gas on the control panel and it should work?

PS: Had a quick call with Alde and they told me where to find the 12V setting.
Thanks all, hope it's that.

Cheers.

Make sure you let us all know it’s working and exactly what the fault was.

Go into the pump settings set to 12v NOT 240v

Westy gets a cookie (y)

If anyone else experiences this, the procedure is as follows:

Go into Alde settings, up one level ^ to Installed Accessories, make sure remote pump is unchecked.
Go down to page 2, ensure Main Manual 12v is checked.

Thanks for the help
