I hope someone can help. I have the above heating system and we have just crossed the channel for a trip to Spain. Turned the heating on and, first of all it was fine. Heated the water for washing up and the heating kicked in. Then I realised that heating was cutting out every 5 seconds or so and the red panel light coming on. It would stay on for 3 or4 seconds then go green for 5 and continue like that until now when it’s red all the time and we have no heating. Is it easy to get a repair in France and does anyone have a suggestion as to where or should we head home as we are only in Rouen.

Is your gas supply OK if you put on a couple of cooker burners?

Martin

I think you have to switch off for 15 mins.
Try leaving both gas bottles open.
Hot water will take priority over heating, so just switch heating on and see what happens.

Do you have one of these ?

Thanks for that @TeeMyob Sounds like it could be something to do with it. I can get hot water but the c/h pump won’t run.

gas supply is fine Martin. On refillable bottles and both are full.

I have done that. We do, at least, have hot water.

It does sound like the pump. Can you check if it runs (or even attempts to run)?

It doesn’t sound like it’s running. I can normally hear it.

OK didn't realise hot water was OK, have you a photos of the warning red symbol, Is it the electronic panel? or the slider switches which I wouldn't need a phot of.

It is quite possibly just the pump that has failed. The boiler will shut down because the water within it will get hotter than normal. Might be worth giving the pump a few thumps if it's the one next to the boiler. If it's the alternative that fits in the header tank take it out to see whether anything obvious has happened to it.

Is it firing on gas then shutting down immediatly?? if so go into your panel select the spanner, then scroll down to installed accessories, then scroll down to main230v and make sure that box hasn't got a tick in it, if it has press on the tick and uncheck the box. It might now just work, Don't ask me how I found that out!!
