Hi, pump runs but not heating up on electric, 2 or 3 kw. The little plug symbol on the 3010 control panel is not showing even though we are on ehu and all else 230v working. before I call Alde on monday anyone have any ideas? Is it the control panel or boiler. Van is a Dethleffs Globtrotter.

Thanks

Check for a tripped breaker, if none tripped

Then try turning controller off and back on again

That’s my technical limit , but has fixed most of my peculiar issues 😁👍

My 3010 has a floor level switch for the 240v supply. If you have similar is it inadvertantly switched off? Does the unit work on gas OK?

Ours doesn't work particularly well on ehu. We had it checked and all is OK but it's disappointing.

We had a dip in temperatures the other night and I went out to check the hab heating - it was freezing cold despite being plugged into our household electric supply. I turned the unit totally off. Then turned it on, max kw, and turned the temperature up to something like 27. It did begin to heat up then so I turned it down to 15. I can't honestly say which of step of the process mentioned above kick-started it.

I was ready to switch it to gas though I was so frustrated by it's lack of heat... you have my sympathies!

Yes its never as good on ehu as with gas but ive nothing on ehu at the moment. Assume boiler isnt getting a mains elec supply.

I am a fool ....I rechecked the breakers and there was one un labbled one that had tripped. Reset and it's running ok. What makes it even worse is I rechecked as the Mrs questioned it.

Thanks for the above replies.

I would be keeping an eye on the Alde display and an ear on the breakers

Hope it doesn't trip again 🤔 not knowing why it tripped is the worst bit , I don’t like uncertainty

My system has a 1kw and a 2kw element. If I use either 1 or 3 kw then the breaker will trip so stick to 2kw. Alde themselves could find nothing wrong and probably some sensitivity with the breaker. Not bothered doing anything about it yet

That doesn't make sense if it's an MCB that is tripping but if an RCB that would indicate a leak to earth on the 1 & 3kw elements.

Did not make sense to me either - there are only two elements, 1kw and 2 kw which when combined make 3kw. So it would trip (not immediately when the 1 kw element was used. Any repair (replace of the 1 kw element would be expensive so I never bothered investigating further. This was Alde HQ who said that it might be a slightly dodgy breaker. I also know a lot about pond weed but nothing at all about electrickery so maybe I misheard
