On our Eldiss 165 key bunch the is a small key? metal square end which seems to make a connection with a small metal plate situated under the steering wheel but in the facia. Question is whats it for? does it connect a tracker device.

assuming you bought it pre owned from a dealer, get the dealer to contact the previous owner and ask.

i got contacted by the dealer after part exing our last van as the new owner could not work out the alarm.

Thanks but I have found out that it can be used to override the alarm system
Probably if the batteries in the main control loose battery power.

great (y)

although that sounds too easy for a potential scrote to override the alarm , in the unlikely event they know the system that is..

Probably an alarm touch key. These contain a chip and are coded to the alarm system. It can be used as an alternative to the battery-operated alarm key fob.

Thanks for the replies. Conformation of what it is is gratefully received.

Hi,
I have a phantom system on mine with a similar key, it’s designed to override the internal sensors for night use, don’t use it as 2 clicks on the fob arms and overrides at the same time.
