Hi I have a 2010 Ford bursnter and having a mare trying to lock the van up a night whilst we are inside . The alarm keeps going off . Can someone tell me what I’m doing wrong please
You need to disable the internal sensors.
How you do it varies with the alarm on ours you give a second press of the arm button within 2 seconds of the first press and a beep sounds to confirm. Some you have to enter a key on the keypad if it has one.
Best to read the instructions, I know it's not a man thing.
All I have on my drivers key is a centra locking and unlocking button .
I have 2010 Ford transit bursnter nexxo . It does motion sensers in the cab.
It’s doing my head in lol. We know how to get into the van without setting the alarm off but it leaves the doors unlock. It’s when we try to lock them from inside all hell breaks loose.
Yes we are virgins regarding Motor homing , first one .
I'm surprised you don't have a separate alarm fob. Have you tried doing as LennyHB suggested: press the part of the fob which you use to lock the vehicle, then within a few seconds press the same fob a second time.
Other than that, sorry I can't suggest anything else. I'm sure someone who does have the answers will be along soon.
You could lock the doors internally not using the fob as that seems to set your alarm including the internal sensors.
Sometimes you have a dash board button that can do that, like in the Ducato, or you may have a button on the dash to press after setting the alarm to disable the sensors, as done with a Cobra alarm.
I’m sure there will be a method you just need to find it. Good luck
Sounds like you’ve found it. On my Cobra alarm I had to put key in ignition & turn it on but not start engine. Then remove key and with 5 seconds press that button you’ve found holding it in until the red light flashed once. That disabled the internal sensors.
Then lock the van with the key fob. It locked all the doors and set the alarm but not inside the van.
Try this method
once in the van go to drivers door and operate the lock, that, I would think, will operate the central locking, but not the alarm. Or cover the internal sensor with tape/disconnect it. Hopefully one of those will sort it until you get to read the manual about it.
