A warning for those of you in the Runcorn area of Cheshire. There has been a case of Alabama Rot at the weekend and a lady who has labradors from my local rescue has lost a 2 year old to this dreadful disease. Her second labrador is at the vets now on a drip. Her 3rd dog is also at risk of having contracted it. This disease takes hold very quickly and is almost always fatal. Please take care.

Think we lost our dog to it last year. Horrible disease. Can't say for sure as vet said she had arthritis. 3 days later her pads looked as if they were peeling off and septic. Lots of hot spots over her abdomen and in a lot of pain. She could have gone in for further tests, but we didn't want her to suffer anymore, so put her to sleep. She died in my arms.
