My 2017 Ducato PVC has illuminated its airbag warning light and beeps pleadingly for me to do something. Before I contact the dealer, any suggestions for a fix?

It’s usually the airbag module which is by the battery.

This website has a lot of useful information and you can send them the module to see if it can be fixed.

Another one here.

It seems to be a problem relating to a low engine battery or after jump starting on Fiat vans.

It seems to be a common issue. Using the 'Search' button top right of this page will throw up many posts and comments and suggested solutions........

Thanks for the replies. I should have searched before asking. Mind you I was unaware as to how common a fault this is! I reckon Fiat need to sort this out as if as suggested, the issue is caused by low (or high) battery voltage, the parameters need tweaking. My van was left for only a few days without charging from EHU, but it was still charging from solar so the voltage did not drop far.

Takes me back to the seventies and Italian motorcycles and how cr*p their electrics were!

One of our members has been chasing all over Europe trying to even get a second hand one.
It seems they are totally unavailable new from Fiat.

I only posted the link as some folk are not aware of the encyclopaedic value of the 'Search' facility. It took me a quite while to become aware that there are very few questions that haven't been answered somewhere. I've also been amazed to find no end of 'How to' videos on YouTube covering every conceivable problem with home, car and motorhome stuff; some issues that I felt were so obscure that they must be unique to me.

It does seem to be common where vehicles have been in storage and have a low battery, I had the same which got replaced under warranty. Someone on here who had the same problem was advised to make sure thry wait for the dash lights go out after you turn the ignition on before trying to start the engine to reduce the chances of a voltage spike.

My van is still under warranty so it will have to go back. I suspect I will be added to the ever-growing waiting list for a new unit.

I am tempted to send it away, however as I don't use my van during the winter, I have no pressing need. In any event the dealer has already stated the repair will be at no cost to me. Maybe the replacement wil have been modified to be more reliable and not so voltage sensitive.

(Take cover ... I see a squadron of pigs flying over the horizon:rolleyes:).
