On the fence with this have elddis autoquest 180 2008 alloy body, I can either uprate springs or go for air bags anyone have any experience with either pros and cons please I wont judge honest !!!?

Air assistant suspension ... we had it on 2 coachbuilt MHs and would certainly recommend it ... ooooooooo ... that's just made me wonder if it's another extra we should consider fitting ot our new MH!

I fitted an air assist kit to our rear suspension which has transformed the ride and handling of our Autoquest 175.
It has an onboard air compressor and I can add or remove air from either side independently via the dash controls while on the move if we find the weather condition change i.e. it gets windy or high cross winds or the road conditions get a bit rough.

The kit delivered was about £350 and took a little over half a day to fit.

Do you have any details on supplier if possible sounds reasonable thanks

I bought a kit supplied from these guys. Don't worry that they are not UK base as it arrived in less than a week and tracked all the way by DPD couriers. http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-5...0001&campid=5338547443&icep_item=163711136328 and the gauge mounting panel came from Marcle Leisure.

Here's the gauge panel and controls mounted just to the right of the steering column in our van.

Thanks for that some of the uk based kits were getting a bit scary price wise

Are you up plating your weight or just doing it for a better ride?

Where would you put it if you couldn’t put it there? I couldn’t, I have all my vanbitz gubbins there!?

If you wanted to adjust the pressures while on the move, then you are probably stuffed for finding a position around the driver unless you get creative.

Other mounting position for the gauges and such are normally on the side of the step below the driver's seat and I have seen them mounted in the garage on some motorhomes.

Our gauges are in the passenger foot well. Has anyone retro fitted the compressors and fitted to the drivers side please? Do you need two compressors? I’m easily confused!?

On my system it is one air compressor that feeds a tee piece which feeds both sides at the same time. The tee piece contains non return valves.
Probably a stupid question but can you alter the ride height just momentarily to get you out of a fix? (just dug my towbar in the tarmac going up the ramp into the MOT garage)

If you have the compressor fitted, yes. Compressor is about £300.

i can raise the rear of mine by about 4”, just by altering the pressure with the dash controls. It’s been useful many times.

Same system can be fitted in many places as shown above ????

The system is more about adjusting the stiffness of the rear suspension rather than raising or lowering it although the ride high does change but only by an inch or two on our van.
